Business Development Manager - Southeast US - Forensics

Southeast, US – Territory includes geography from DE to FL and Caribbean Islands 
This sales position is responsible for growing, prospecting and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients for our Forensics Strategic Business Unit (SBU). Clients include medical examiners, coroners, hospitals, prosecutors, defense community, law enforcement and private corporations. The successful candidate will have a verifiable record of accomplishments in sales, business development and revenue growth in medical diagnostics, criminal justice or laboratory services. Must be able to comprehend and effectively communicate scientific/technical needs of clients of diversified backgrounds in the area of forensic sciences. Product area responsibilities include: toxicology, DNA, drug chemistry and trace evidence. Responsibilities include meet/exceed new client revenue goals and growth expectations. Evaluate strategic business opportunities for new markets/services lines. Develop and execute effective tactical plans for the growth of the forensic customer base. Manage and prioritize a large geographic area to optimize growth potential. Provide input and participate in all SBU related activities including (but not limited to) weekly reports, quarterly sales review meetings, direct mailings, promotional activities, trade shows, etc. Develop and maintain a close professional working relationship with target clients. Monitor work performed in the laboratory to ensure that it meets the SBU and client expectations. Provide input to R&D, identifying opportunities to develop new products and/or services. Prepare and submit bids and proposals in a timely fashion as required by client base. Experience in government sales and/or forensic sciences is a plus. Maintain client profiles, contact history and other pertinent data in approved CRM system (Goldmine). Travel as required by the business unit (may meet or exceed 60% overnight travel). Other duties as assigned.  
Proficiency in all aspects of MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Familiarity with contact management software. Team player with excellent organizational and communications skills and strong attention to detail. Strong financial analysis skills and experience in consultative and diagnostic selling strategies. Able to conduct sales outside office (with own transportation) as majority of time is spent outside of the office. Qualified to have current passport allowing for occasional business travel outside of United State 
BS + preferable in the sciences and 3 years related sales experience in medical diagnostics, laboratory services or forensic marketplace..
